Milanesa Napolitana
A classic Argentine comfort food featuring crispy breaded beef cutlets topped with rich tomato sauce, savory ham, and melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients
Beef & Coating
- 4 beef cutlets (top round or sirloin), hammered thin
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Topping
- 1 cup tomato marinara sauce
- 4 slices cooked ham
- 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp dried oregano
Instructions
Season the Meat
Lightly season the thin beef cutlets with salt and pepper. In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt.
Bread the Cutlets
Dip each cutlet first into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs, pressing firmly so the breading adheres.
Fry to Golden
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the cutlets for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Assemble toppings
Preheat oven broiler. Arrange the fried cutlets on a baking sheet. Spoon a layer of tomato sauce over each, layer with a slice of ham, and cover generously with mozzarella.
Melt & Broil
Place under the broiler for 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden. Garnish with a sprinkle of dried oregano and serve hot with fries.
