Grilled Salmon with Avocado Salsa
Perfectly grilled salmon fillet topped with a bright, zesty avocado salsa.
Ingredients
For the Salmon:
- 2 salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper
- 1 lemon, juiced
For the Salsa:
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- 1/4 red onion, diced
- 1 jalapeño, minced
- Fresh cilantro
Instructions
Prep the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with olive oil and season generously with salt and black pepper.
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
Grill the Salmon
Place the salmon skin-side down on the grill. Cook for 5-6 minutes without moving it to get a crispy skin. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until opaque.
Make the Salsa
In a medium bowl, combine diced avocado, red onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro. Drizzle with lemon juice and a pinch of salt.
Toss and Taste
Gently toss the salsa ingredients together, being careful not to mash the avocado. Taste and add more lemon or salt if needed.
Serve
Plate the grilled salmon fillets and top each generously with the fresh avocado salsa. Serve with a side of quinoa or greens.
