Authentic Mexican Street Tacos
Street-style tacos with tender marinated steak, fresh cilantro, onion, and a squeeze of lime on corn tortillas.

- 500g flank steak
- Corn tortillas
- 1/2 white onion, finely diced
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- Lime wedges
- Salsa verde
Instructions
Marinate the Steak
Rub the steak with lime juice, salt, pepper, and a touch of cumin. Let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Sear the Meat
Heat a heavy skillet or grill pan until extremely hot. Sear the steak for 3-5 minutes per side until charred on the outside and medium-rare inside.
Rest and Slice
Let the meat rest for 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain into very thin strips or small cubes for easy eating.
Prep the Toppings
Finely dice the white onion and roughly chop the fresh cilantro. Slice the limes into wedges for squeezing.
Warm the Tortillas
Briefly heat the corn tortillas on the skillet until they are soft and slightly charred. Keep them warm in a clean kitchen towel.
Assemble
Fill each tortilla with a generous portion of steak. Top with onion, cilantro, a spoonful of salsa verde, and a squeeze of fresh lime.
